The purpose of the New Baltimore Police Bicycle Patrol Unit is to provide the maximum police protection to the community and to serve as a maneuverable and highly visible force.


The bike patrol is a very mobile and diverse unit. Due to their stealth like approach and ability to operate in any terrain they are very effective at controlling crimes such as suppression of gang activity, investigating street level alcohol incidents, deterring narcotics complaints and maintaining the peace and good order of the community.

With a community oriented policing approach the bicycle unit is distinguished from that of regular motorized patrols.

The bicycle patrol unit also operates at all hours of the day and evening within all areas of the city i.e. residential, commercial, industrial and rural areas. All members of the unit are on the Law Enforcement Mt. Bicycle Association (L.E.B.A.).
