The Anchor Bay School District Board of Education established a School Resource Officer position in September 2001 for the New Baltimore center campus. The school district’s intent for this position was to assign an experienced full time law enforcement officer who would act as a liaison between the New Baltimore Police Department and the Anchor Bay School District. The School Resource Officer is to work with students and staff on a daily basis, be a positive role model and supporter of school events / activities. The School Resource Officer is also responsible for being an educator, counselor, community advisor and an additional resource for crime prevention programs for the below listed schools.

Officer Timothy P. Wiley has been assigned to the position of S.R.O. for the 2004/05 school year. Officer Wiley has been a member of the New Baltimore Police Department since 1998. During Officer Wiley’s employment with the City of New Baltimore he has graduated from The University of Detroit Mercy earning a Bachelors Degree in Education. Officer Wiley has teaching experience and a well balanced criminal arrest record in addition to organizing various community oriented policing programs. Officer Ken Stevens was the first S.R.O. assigned to the school district. Officer Stevens was promoted to the rank of Detective in August of 2004.
